So I have a Saitek x    something....... with peddles.

My dad plays flight sims.. Not online.. just by himself.

I'm going to upgrade and give him my stuff.

Is the thrustmaster warthog the way to go????

Should i get new peddles?  I think my dad would love the full experience so maybe i should.

definitely get peddles; warthog is still a great stick for the price but there are a few others about these days though some are hard to get in Australia, I'll dig around on the DCS forum and post some options for you 🙂

He is using a laptop atm. But will get it sorted .

from what I can see the warthog is probably the best; it's high quality and I really like mine and certainly works well with SC and DCS, well all flight sims. It is very heavy so will need to make some changes to your desk to accommodate it. I added a bracket to the underside of my desk to support it and have it just below the desk height to get it at the right position. you also need rudder pedals as the stick has no rudder function but the pedals are a huge benefit.
also thrustmaster will be releasing an upgrade to the warthog, a f-18 stick which will bolt onto the warthog base

my warthog setup:

Saitek have the X-56 Rhino H.O.T.A.S which is also pretty good and slightly cheaper and you don't need pedals.

as for pedals the saitek Pro Fligh Rudder Pedals are pretty good and what I have. the CH Pro Pedals are also good and a similar price.

you can spend more on pedals and hotas but you the start getting above a thousand, the warthog and pedals you should be able to get for around 700.

the VPC is a cut above but gets rather expensive and comes from Belarus so shipping isn't cheap
