finally got fc2 and pb working with W7.

firstly update pb:[/color:2wnba6dg]
I used pbsetup at evenbalance.com to manually ‘update’ Punkbuster. The pb folder had to go in FC2’s bin folder and in the users>yourname>appdata>Punkbuster>FCX folder.

then copy the pb folder to:[/color:2wnba6dg]

If you are using a 64 bit version of Win 7, then Copy PnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe from “WindowsSysWOW64” to “WindowsSystem32″[/color:2wnba6dg].
Both of these locations ‘must’ contain these files.

Run the game (farcry2.exe) and all the PB .exes as Administrator.

To avoid any API related PB kicks, make sure the *Allow service to interact with desktop[/color:2wnba6dg]* option is enabled for PnkBstrA & PnkBstrB.
Open RUN and then type ‘Services.msc’, and Find PnkBstrA & PnkBstrB. Right-click the PnkBstrA service and in the ‘Log On’ option tick the “Allow service to interact with desktop” button.

and finally to allow custom maps to download in W7 you need to place a copy of (winhttp.dll [/color:2wnba6dg]) in the fc2bin folder.
You can get that file from a pc running XP WindowsSystem32 or d/l from here:

[b:2wnba6dg]and then why would you bother ?
the fc2 editor has just been opened up to allow mods so we might see some cool mods in the coming months.[/b:2wnba6dg]

that’s just a collection of solutions from the ubi forums that are needed to get the game working with W7.

some clever guys have actually found a way to inmport the sp assets into the map editor and have developed some great ssm’s to modify what weapons are available and a new game mode called last man standing.
