Hey G,

I’ve had a look at the scripts but havn’t done anything with them yet
I think I got a bit ahead of myself with the last post, I tried to create the full map with all the spawn points as AI paths however it didn’t work. from what I can tell it won’t work with spawn points all the doco I read says you need to place the AI figure (mercenary etc) and then tell the AI figure to follow the path.
Have you gotton the AI to work with with spawn points?

As far as the server goes, I tried to jump on with Smegs and I had a ping of 300, for test purposes I suppose it will be ok however the next this is finding a suitable time for both of us. Germany is 10hrs behind Oz and I can get on either early morning Oz time 7am or on weekends afer 11pm Oz time.

see if you can get the spawn point to work with AI path and let me know.

Hey SG,

The spawn points are sperate to the AI points etc.

When you finished putting the AI points down, make sure you ‘generate AI triangulation’ In the ‘Game’ tab…i think it is. That will make it work [Image Can Not Be Found]

Let me know how it goes, and i dont think we will be able to play until you get back [Image Can Not Be Found] but at least by then, everything should be ready! [Image Can Not Be Found]

which AI point do you mean?
What I tried was, I placed an AI path and linked it to the spawn points. Didn’t triangulate though. I’ll try this tonight

Hey Mate,

Ok, here is a quick run down:

–Respawn/Spectator points: This can be put down as normal, no ‘linking’ needed to bot points.

Ok for the AI points, go to the far right, there is the objects to put down (first tab), click AI.

–Forbidden Area: Put this around most big objects (rocks, buildings, water, etc) (no ‘linking needed)

–AI Points: Put these in places where bots must follow a certain path so they dont fall off/crash into something. For example, crossing a bridge… (there are also hide poiints etc)

-AI Navigation Modifier: Put a box of this around AI points for it to work properly. Only AI points.

Thats it, now you just Triangulate AI Navigation and your done! No other linking needed, the bots will find weapons etc by themselves [Image Can Not Be Found]

farcry1 has taken a back seat atm as we have a fc2 scrim comming up. but onces thats over il be pressing for fc1 again lol.

awesome snowy good see you folks still playing fc2; you scimming a local clan ?
and I was reading on the ubi forums that there is a problem for W7 users not being able to d/l maps from the server, hope they patch the game soon.

We playd DoM, a Aus/NZ clan. they are a small clan, decidcated to FC2 only, so natrualy they bet us pretty well, but were pretty good sports

Good news!

Mixer found a way to reduce the On Hit detection bandwidth by 2/3!!!

So the hit detectgion is MORE accurate even at HIGH pings while using less bandwidth!!!

More optimisations have also been done!

Its almost ready, only thing left to fix is the hang glider [Image Can Not Be Found]

Only 2 small, possible fixable bugs left!!! Then its RC1 time! (release candidate 1):

-Make bots/AI react with flashbangs/smoke grenades
-Fix Delay on Bot Tag
