goes live 25th june and the big 1.2 gb patch that pushed through today rings of fresh new assets to play with...

Additions will include new arsenals and vehicles to test and new scenarios that include a co-op and multi-team, wave-based defense scenario. Additionally, a new ยIndependentย faction consisting of a military native to Altis and Stratis was mentioned. You know, in case you were tired of Blufor and Opfor.Another change is that uploading player-created missions to Steam Workshop will be directly integrated into the Arma 3 mission editor, which should streamline things a bit. This isnยt necessarily going to be available during the beta, but it is a confirmed feature. Eventually.

I posted here seeing as it's got the most recent activity. So is anyone still playing ARMA 2 or 3 or even DayZ? Be good to jump in on the weekend for a game, might even get Sav off of Combat Arms to join in (yes he STILL plays it, as does Scotty).
Post up here if anyone's interested in a game, I can probably get Pun to join in too and maybe Scotty if he's not working.
Hi Raider good to hear from you. ARMA3 would be your best option most here have been playing it and it will soon be out of beta and likely to take up much of our gaming time. Being on steam also gives us easy access to many missions through the steam workshop and arma 3 is a smoother more enjoyable experience than was arma2.
DayZ is still played but has taken a back seat to "7 days to die", I think most are waiting for the stand-alone version of DayZ.
Sorrry to hear about Savy and Scotty, if you like we could organise an intervention; I'm sure the lads would be happy to help ๐
I'm still playing the gay games, minecraft, cubeworld, Mighty quest for epic loot, Sir you are being hunted, Take on Mars, just to name a few but I'm about ready to take off the apron and don the ghillie suit for some raw man on man action.
so log on to steam buy arma3 ($45usd) and break out the solider in u.
though if your not interested in A3 we could probably have a game of ARMA2 this weekend.
ts details are on the front page.
Hi Brim ๐ thanks for replying. Well the weekend didn't quite pan out as I imagined, the result of which was that obviously I didn't get around to following up on my bold Arma playing forecast.
I haven't really looked at anything more than some trailers for Arma 3 and was going to wait until it was out of beta before buying it. May have to get it this week.
I gave up on Dayz because of the hackers; every sever I went in was a hackfest, hopefully the stand-alone will deal with it.
Sav and Scotty are beyond help mate, mind you if I tell Savy you're up for some "raw man on man action" it may arouse his curiosity. ๐
np Raider, the weekend for me was pretty hectic.
arma 3 will be out of beta in about 16 days and really is a much more polished game than arma2 and more enjoyable to play. definitely worth the money and I can see myself throwing some serious gaming time at it and we'll probably get ourselves a local server.
Dayz... the guys have been renting their own server which gets rid of the hackers so it can be fun and I'm sure once the standalone is out they'll rent another, though it might be a few months before we see the final version.
and I'm sure arma 3 will arouse the man in Savy, certainly better than a pee to face by a toddler hehe.
drop into ts sometime soon, some good folk on and there always eager for a laugh a sing-a-long or just to swap a recipe or 2
Hi Raids ๐
Caught up with Savy and Scotty recently for some CA fun. Makes it easy when Scotty fully kits you out with GP gear ๐
We've been playing bit and pieces of Arma 3 recently and it looks really good. They've improved almost everything over Arma 2, and since they've tuned down the AI a bit the game has become really fun. It can be a bit of a pain at times starting a game up due to the constant patching which breaks missions etc but once up and running things are smooth.
Two of the biggest features I like is the ability to save a session and continue later and and the Steam Workshop which allows you to easily play on user created missions.
See ya soon ๐
Raids you old mollusc - I thought your deep cycle batteries on your wheel chair ran out of charge down some unused lane about 5 years ago, and that you are a skeleton of your former self. Still sitting in that wheel chair, so rumour had it. The reason why you have not been around for a while.
What is this, some of those other old guys are still playing Combat Arms - I don't have a system running a 16 bit OS, so I suppose I can't join them.
Hi guys!
This weekend doesn't look good for gaming unfortunately but I'm still up for Arma 3 at some point. Hopefully someone will post here when a sever is up and running.
I can't believe you allowed them to talk you into playing CA, Base, what were you thinking? And don't give me the "Scotty gave me tons of cool shit" excuse, that's all I hear from Savy. Well that and "when are you coming over to watch Brokeback Mountain with me?".
CC mate, good to see you still squelching around the place. Here's a pic for you...
yep time purchase a dedi for arma3, best option is to get a 12 slot server from gameservers and attach it to our ts account. I or Smokes will look to organising it this weekend and I'll send you some cash next week DJ.
with a dedi folks can play when they have the time and should provide a more stable ping especially for the queenslanders and WA folk; the current mission we've been playing "Insurgency" will take many weeks to complete with our small band of fighters.
we can either have Smokes upload the current mission file to the server or just start afresh.
Hi guys back again. Hey DJ, great to see you too mate!
Ok, sorry for the gap between posts but I'm back with some good news and some bad news.
The bad news is that Savy is a pirate.
We've all known it for quite some time but it's now confirmed. Hang on that's not right. What I meant to say was; Savy is a gay.
I always get those two mixed up.
Now for the good news! I have in front of me two shiny new, plastic wrapped copies of Arma 3! Yay. One for me, one for Jono (Pun). So, all going well with installation, setting up teamspeak again etc, we should both be available for some good old fashioned PwR scrim action this weekend.
There is also a very good possibility that Jono can host a server. I won't go into the techy details because I'm dumb as rocks and I don't know what it all means. Suffice to say Jono is a computer guru and one time world record holder for various overclocking feats and is confident that the new server set up he has at home for work purposes will be able to host gaming.
I tried to talk Savy into buying the game but getting him to spend money is like trying to pin down a kangaroo on a trampoline.
I'll post back once Jono has explained to me again all the stuff about hosting a server.
Hope some of you are available for a spankingly awesome time this weekend.
We can also play some Arma. :s tar:
Hi Raids jump on ts and we'll slip you a password.
we currently have domination running and we could certainly do with some soldiers, the first town is throwing up some devilish resistance but a solid night vision session from me has put us close to taking the tower down; mhq is nicely placed but they do shoot straight so wear a hat.
plenty of assets in this version of dom and a mhq chopper which is handy on Altis.
The mobile virtual ammo crates can bug out, to fix them just reload them into the mhq and then redeploy.
and Savy's looking well ๐
