G Day All,

Well as I said in the shout box I had all intention of getting L4D for me annual pay day game but when I got into town Empire Total War was sitting under new releases [Image Can Not Be Found]

As it is a must have game on my list I had to get it [Image Can Not Be Found] I'll still get L4D adventually [Image Can Not Be Found]

The most I've ever payed for a pc game was $120 but the collectors edition of Empire was $140 and you do get some nice extras for a change. A decent size wooden box instead of one the double the size of a normal DVD case you get with most other games, you also get a large fold out map and 6 bonus in game units 1 of them been a 104 gun first rate ship of the line [Image Can Not Be Found] , Also a Stainless steel flask & nautical compass.

I was in a hurry to play it but the dam install wanted to tack its time not to mention I thought I could put steam on my programs hdd and the game on my games hdd but oh no steam wouldn't have any of that but I got past that and was finally able to play it [Image Can Not Be Found]

I just had a quick go I didn't even have a look at the graphic settings but will be tweaking them next time I play it. The game play its self seems pretty simple as far as rts games go but the difficulty comes with how good you are with tactics as you can't really (well you can just don't expect to get to far) just tell a unit to move over there and start attacking.

But watching an entire musketeer brigade fire then reload looks stunning, sounds unreal and really makes you feel apart of the battle with all the little eye candy bits they have put in there.

I bought the game for the navy side of it and OMFG Brimlad you will love it if you get this game, you can control your entire fleet or individually or a bit of both and once again lots of eye candy to give the player a real sense of realism. And also once again the controls to your units are easy and rather simple for an rts but this game is more about strategy than having over powered units than can just kill anything like in a lot of rts games.

Just one quick screenie, I'll post some more once I have tweaked the graphics [Image Can Not Be Found]

My experiences with ships are normally not very good.

Will consider getting but I get frustrated with games like that. [Image Can Not Be Found]

Sure I'll have ago at mp with ya [Image Can Not Be Found]

OFF with ya HEAD Wink

I'm still learning how to play it effectively against the ai let alone a real person, even though I bought the game for the navy side but the sp missions are extreme. If you have ever played Civ's 4 or Sid Meier's Pirates Live the life its very similar to how you control the world and how it looks like those 2 games expect a lot nicer of course.

And setting up your troops for battle, this a task in a half sometimes but its most enjoyable, you also get to build stuff and control your government and economy (I keep overspending on military units [Image Can Not Be Found] ) . At one point I had 2 fleets sailing about and a rather large army attacking the french but then all my city's and towns started to riot cause I had the tax rate to high to pay for all those military units and having them all away attacking the French I couldn't calm them down [Image Can Not Be Found]

Yay I finally got to have a multi player game of Empire Total War against Snowy [Image Can Not Be Found]

You can play up to 4v4 and the servers are player hosted, I hosted this afternoons one there was a little bit of lag but given I'm in Tassie and Snowy is in NZ it was pretty dam good [Image Can Not Be Found]

We had a Land battle witch Snowy won, sneaky little bugger flanked me when I was looking at another part of the battle 😡 but I got my revenge at Sea loosing only 1 unit to his entire fleet [Image Can Not Be Found] (but to be fair to Snowy, he didn't really know what he was doing)

Both been noobs to the multi player side of the game I think in our next battle we better choose different nations as it was a bit hard to make out who was attacking who Laugh

WHAT......NO WAY MAN ❗

The navy bits the best part [Image Can Not Be Found]

You need to command your boats as fleets NOT individual units other wise you will get your ass kicked and you will have no real control over your navy 😯

If you don't know how to put your boats into fleets, its the same as creating squads in the land battle [Image Can Not Be Found]

If you still don't know what I'm on about, at the start of battle when deploying troops/ships select what units you want together (In land battles for instance I always put my cannons and horse units into squads and usually leave the rest as individual units) the same can be applied to your ships, I usually half my navy and make 2 fleets.

When you have the units you want selected just click the button on the bottom right that looks like a bunch of flags side by side and then the formation button if you want to change there positions and that's it [Image Can Not Be Found]

I'll take a screenshot and post it up to show you what I mean [Image Can Not Be Found]

Ok so to start off with you want to select some units
[img:gr67ig7d]http://www.mvmclan.com/mvmfiles/AriseAbove/instruct1.jpg[/img:gr67ig7d]

Then click this button to put them into a group/fleet.
[img:gr67ig7d]http://www.mvmclan.com/mvmfiles/AriseAbove/instruct2.jpg[/img:gr67ig7d]

You will then see them in a light shaded colour with a Roman Numeral on your screen you can select that fleet by clicking on the number.
[img:gr67ig7d]http://www.mvmclan.com/mvmfiles/AriseAbove/instruct3.jpg[/img:gr67ig7d]

Then select the next lot of units and do the same as above click the group button.
[img:gr67ig7d]http://www.mvmclan.com/mvmfiles/AriseAbove/instruct4.jpg[/img:gr67ig7d]

You will then see the next group on your screen, a slightly different colour again and as the same as the first group you can select it just by pressing the number.
[img:gr67ig7d]http://www.mvmclan.com/mvmfiles/AriseAbove/instruct5.jpg[/img:gr67ig7d]

Basically keep doing the above an till your happy with your set up as this was an example I didn't bother grouping my last lot of ships there.

Once you have a group/fleet selected you can change there position in the group by clicking this button witch will bring up the tab above your ships with the different formations you can choose.
[img:gr67ig7d]http://www.mvmclan.com/mvmfiles/AriseAbove/instruct6.jpg[/img:gr67ig7d]

You can do the exact same grouping method in the land battles, just select the units you want in a group and click the button.
